WATER SPORTS
There are
several professional water sports centres throughout Zanzibar, with a range of
exciting activities to enjoy and explore Zanzibar's superb marine environment.
The island of ZANZIBAR brings images of idyllic tropical holidays to mind. It
has for many years been a favourite travel destination for those in the know,
but has only recently become known as a superb diving destination. The reefs
are in general shallow with clean and calm water. The coral is mostly
unspoiled and teems with large numbers of tropical marine inhabitants.

DIVING
Zanzibar Island
is still virgin best diving in east Africa,the life coral with beautiful
colored fishes are playing at the northern tip of the island, the best diving
in Zanzibar are at Ras Nungwi and east coast, Recommended dive center is Ras Nungwi
hotel and the other in east coast are Bahari divers and big ocean divers both
are experienced of diving activities. Whether you're a total beginner, or a
seasoned professional, there are dive adventures for you.
DEEP SEA
FISHING
Is base
location at Ras Nungwi is in close proximity to some of Africa's best deep sea
fishing grounds. The waters between Zanzibar and Pemba are home to some
excellent year round game fishing opportunities. Our own big game fishing
boat, Countdown, is a large, twin screw craft, equipped to the highest international safety
standards. She also has the latest technology, with GPS navigational aids,
color echo sounder and fish finder.
THE BOATS
The Dive Centre
utilises two types of diving boats. Fast and very safe 6m Rigid Inflatable
boats which takes 10 divers, and which enables us to offer the diver the best
variety of dive sites in Nungwi, safely. We also utilise a classical local
dhow that take up to 14 divers for slower but more relaxed trips.
DIVING
COURSES
Instructors
who are highly trained professionals present all our diving courses and they
have qualified to conduct PADI diver courses by meeting diving's highest
instructor training standards. All courses are fun and ensure that the client
learns what they need to enjoy diving to the fullest. Our 5 star PADI Resort
status offers some added value to the client - on successful completion of
their course they will be presented with a
GOLD
certification card.
Discover Scuba Diving( 4hrs 1 dive)
This course is
as basic as you can get after snorkeling. After an initial briefing (where you
will find out what you should be doing) you will be taken to the pool where
you will put your new skills into practice. Once we are satisfied that you are
becoming a fish we will take you on a leisurely dive to let you experience the
thrill of the under water world.
Open Water Diver ( 4days 4 dives)
You have done
our DSD or else you just want to be independent and dive without an instructor
all the time. In this course you will learn all the fundamentals of diving and
become a confident SCUBA diver. You’ll receive PADI cortication and be able to
dive at centre around the world.
Advances Open Water ( 2days 5dives)
May be you
would like to further your diving knowledge and experience specialty dives.
Once you are open water certified you will be eligible to do this course. You
will be certified for deeper dives, be more competent with your buoyancy and
you will be able to choose 2 specialty dives. This course will make you a more
confident diver with more scope to dive at other dive sites.
Rescue Diver (2days 5dives.)
This course
will test your under water wits. With this course you will spend time learning
to be a more competent conscientious diver. It will enable you to solve
problems, anticipate hazardous situations and increase your diving confidence
almost to its limit. No-one will question your ability when you show them your
Rescu diver card.
Scuba Review (4hours 1-2dives.)
Feeling a
little rusty or haven’t dived in a while? We recommend divers who have not
dived in 12 months to take this little refresher course. We will go through
and evaluate your skills re-enhance your confidence and take you on a pleasant
dive of your choice.
